Albania or Hungary for dental treatment?
Hungary has been doing this for decades; Albania is the newer and usually cheaper option. Here is how they differ in practice — and what actually keeps you safe in either.
Cost, without invented comparisons
Hungary built European dental tourism, and its prices have risen with its reputation. Albania is generally the lower-cost option today, which is why patients from the UK, Germany, France and Italy increasingly look at Tirana.
We publish what we can stand behind: our own partner clinic's starting prices, including implants from €300 and All-on-4 from €2,500 per arch. We do not publish price tables for clinics in other countries.
Regulation and what actually protects you
Hungary's EU membership is a reasonable comfort factor. It is not a substitute for clinic-level diligence, and patients have had poor outcomes in EU countries as well as outside them.
The questions that protect you are the same everywhere: who is the treating dentist, what are their qualifications, which implant system, which lab, what is guaranteed in writing, and who pays if something needs redoing.
Travel and the trip itself
Budapest has more direct flights from Northern Europe; Tirana is strong from Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and the UK, including low-cost carriers.
Once you are here, appointments take up part of the day. Most patients use the rest to see Tirana, Berat or the coast — and transfers between hotel and clinic are coordinated on our Comfort and VIP packages.
